Greetings from Holland, Arrived here after some great shows and festival fun in Italy. I’ve posted some photos to check out. I’ll be here for 10 shows. Those of you here in Holland I look forward to seeing you soon. I’ll return to Italy July 1st for the rest of the summer…. lots of shows coming up there as a solist as a duo with Jader on drums and as a trio with a super piano player named, GianLuca.

LOVE LOVE…..Spring  

2008 is off to a great start. It is an exciting and inspiring time. Things are happening! Americans have been given the choice between a woman and a black man as the next Democratic candidate for President. Against all odds, The New York Giants beat the undefeated New England Patriots in an amazing Superbowl. I would like to take this moment and tell you how I am using this energy and let you know how you can help.

When I moved to LA nearly a decade ago I found a yoga class close to my home that would unexpectedly change my life. This Bikrim yoga class was held in independently owned, small sacred space and led by a small but powerful teacher, Samantha Mehra. It wasn’t long before we became friends. Samantha introduced me to Kirtan, which is a form of Bakti Yoga- devotional yoga. It is a practice that reveals the heart. Kirtan is an experience that can free the heart and calm the mind by singing mantras with others in a call and response fashion. This for me was an incredible discovery. This for me was the reason I love to sing…to connect…to free…to ignite.

I feel blessed to have been embraced by the Kirtan community here in LA, and, with Dave Stringer throughout Europe. It has had a transformational effect on my life and now, after several years of extensive travel, personal exploration, and my studies aboard on the Sivananda Ashram, I wish to give back and make an offering.

My personal mission has always been to create community and positive change through music, regardless of the genre (Broadway, folk, jazz, pop/rock). This upcoming concert will be the beginning of my musical fusion. It is an opportunity to convey social, political & spiritual ideas that can unite and empower.

As the springtime approaches we can come together to ‘renew our joy’. This is by far the most meaningful and important concert I will have done in LA thus far, so I am asking for extra support this time around. I have already gathered an incredibly talented tribe our musicians, and am excited to meet sponsors, street team promoters, management, press, conscious minded record labels, booking agents, leaders of spiritual centers and more open minded folks who want to open their hearts connect and make positive changes in our community and world.
